Bumochi Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MangoMelon Studio LLC ("MangoMelon," "we," "us," or "our") handles information for Bumochi, a gentle time-management and pet companion app for kids and families.

Short version: Bumochi is designed for no accounts, no ads, no third-party ad tracking, and local-first routine data. If that changes, we will update this policy before shipping the change.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Bumochi is designed so that we do not collect:

Account usernames or passwords.
Precise location data.
Third-party advertising identifiers.
Cross-app or cross-site tracking data.
Payment card details.

2. Information Stored On Your Device

Bumochi may store app information locally on your device so the app can work. This can include tasks, routines, pet progress, streaks, app preferences, parent-area settings, and optional check-ins you choose to enter.

This app data is designed to stay on your device unless you choose to share, export, sync, or send information to us directly.

3. Optional Device Permissions

Bumochi may ask for optional permissions depending on the features you use:

Notifications: used for reminders you enable.
Microphone or speech input: used only if you choose voice task input.
Calendar: used only if you choose to add tasks to your device calendar.
Camera: used only if you choose to take a photo for your profile avatar. The image is stored locally and never uploaded.
Photos or sharing: used only if you choose a photo for your profile avatar, or to save or share a progress card.

You can manage these permissions in your device settings. Bumochi should still provide core task features without optional permissions.

4. Children and Families

Bumochi is designed for everyone, including children. The app is designed to avoid accounts, ads, and behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

If a parent or guardian contacts us by email, we will use that email only to respond to the request unless the parent or guardian asks us to do something else.

5. Third-Party Services

Bumochi does not include third-party advertising SDKs. The app bundles SDKs for optional cloud sync (Supabase) and crash reporting (Sentry), but these are disabled in this release and make no network requests. If we enable them in a future version, we will update this policy and prompt users before any data leaves the device.

If you make a purchase through an app store, payment processing is handled by Apple, Google, or the relevant app store provider. We do not receive your full payment card details.

6. Your Choices

You can:

Delete local app data by removing the app from your device.
Turn optional permissions off in your device settings.
Contact us with privacy questions at the email below.

7. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Bumochi changes. If we make a meaningful change to data handling, we will update the "Last updated" date and revise this page before the change is released.
